General Statement
Oxford Flow recognises its duty, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure the health, safety, welfare and wellbeing of its employees and other persons who may be affected by its activities to comply with the health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
The Organisation’s Responsibilities
The organisation will:
• Ensure compliance with all legal obligations and any other systems or standards applicable to Oxford Flow.
• Be committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for the prevention of workrelated injury and ill health.
• Be committed to continual improvement of the health & safety management system and regularly review and improve our health and safety practices and performance.
• Ensure a member of senior management maintains specific responsibility for health and safety.
• Ensure competent people are appointed to assist us in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate, specialists from outside of the organisation.
• Provide clear instructions, information and adequate training, to ensure our employees are competent in their roles to enable the safe performance of work activities and are knowledgeable regarding health and safety protocols.
• Be committed to eliminating hazards and reducing health and safety risks.
• Make adequate provision and arrangements for welfare facilities at work.
• Consult with both internal and external stakeholders on health, safety, welfare and wellbeing arrangements where appropriate, including employees, safety representatives, customers, suppliers, contractors, neighbours, members of the public, and regulators.
• Ensure all arrangements are brought to employees’ attention and are monitored and reviewed to ensure that they are effective.
Employees’ Responsibilities Employees must ensure that they:
• Co-operate with management to enable all statutory duties to be complied with
• Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and the health and safety of otherswho may be affected by their acts or omissions.
• Familiarise themselves with the health and safety arrangements that apply to them andtheir work functions.

Policy review
The Health and Safety Officer will ensure that this policy is implemented, maintained, reviewed and communicated to all persons working for or on behalf of the organisation on a regular basis to reflect good practice and changes in legislation.
