IHF – High Precision Gas Regulator
The IHF regulator pre-dates the establishment of the Oxford Flow business by 10 years. Originally designed by the founding Professor, Tom Povey, for use during his research into jet turbines at the Osney Thermo-fluids test facility here in Oxford. Increasingly frustrated that market-leading pressure regulators couldn’t meet the needs of his R&D activity, he decided to design his own. The resulting technology formed the basis for the creation of Oxford Flow in 2015 to take the valve technology to market. IHF regulators have been in service for more than 15 years with zero downtime.

IP - Polymer Liquid Regulator
The polymer liquid pressure regulator was the first ‘Oxford Flow’ design, building upon the core principles and patented piston technology of the IHF valve. This novel technology was packaged to address the needs of the utility water industry. The product was initially adopted Europe wide in 2016 by Veolia for its mobile water treatment business and then launched into the utility water market shortly after once WRAS and NSF potable water certification had been secured for UK and US applications. Following further development of a comprehensive suite of ‘intelligence’ add-on functionality and the rapid adoption by public utility water municipalities in Mexico, Georg Fischer expressed their interest in taking over the manufacture and sale of the polymer pressure regulator to enhance their portfolio of solutions to address ‘leakage management’ in the utility water market. This formed the basis for their eventual investment into Oxford Flow during 2020 and the associated licencing arrangement that gave Georg Fischer exclusive rights to market their version of the Oxford Flow IP valve, branded as their ‘Neoflow’ product range into the utility water market.
IM-S - Gas Regulator
Following the completion of a 3.5 year NIA industry funded development project with UK Gas Distribution Network company SGN, an optimised design of the initial IM gas regulator, the IM-S, was developed and released during late 2021. The IM-S regulator was officially launched following receipt of the of EN334 product type testing certification leading to sales that increased 400% over a 2 year period.

IM-C ‘Top-entry’ Cartridge Regulator

Following successful trials at Williams in the US, VRG Controls, our distribution partner in the US placed a large order for the new IM-C gas regulators, the majority of which were delivered later on in the year. Orders rapidly doubled in size as demand grew on the back of the work from VRG and our distribution partner in Mexico. During this period, we successfully expanded our design envelope and the size range from 2-8”.
ES Zero Emissions Stemless Control and Isolation Valve

Following several years of engagement with the technical subject matter experts at BP, Chevron, Equinor and initial testing activity at Equinor’s Karsto facility in Norway during late 2020, the ES valve design and associated position sensor technology received the final ATEX and CSA certification effectively clearing the way to officially launch the product following high profile awards from ASME at OTC in Houston and from ADNOC as part of their decarbonisation technology challenge during 2023.
Early orders were received for products delivered into gas gathering and onshore oil & gas applications in the US. Ongoing engagements with BP, ADNOC, Harbour Energy and other oil and gas operators in the US are expected to result in order intake this year.
Looking forward, there are other key players who are fast tracking the approval of this product for key strategic global projects, such as Hydrogen or environmental endeavors designed to mitigate fugitive emissions.
